Description: Vintage Middle Eastern Camel Saddle Bags, Ca 1970's, #C1749.
A beautiful Middle Eastern Camel Saddle Bag set. Made of wool and cotton, these embroidered and tasseled saddle bags are works of art, each one unique and handmade. This piece hung in the old ExxonMobil headquarters in Fairfax, VA before it's transition to the INOVA cancer facility. To give you an idea of what and how the Camel Bags were used, I have included, the wooden base camel saddle frame upon which the bags hung and a couple of snaps on what they might have looked like.
Dimensions: 80" x 22" with 9 large tails on either side which are 19" long.
Condition: Excellent for its age.
Provenance: ExxonMobil who is prominent in the Middle East, probably acquired in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or the UAE years ago.
